DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Carl Edwards and Ryan Newman each have eight top-10 finishes in the 15 Cup Series races this season, but no trips to Victory Lane.

Their performances suggest a win will come sooner rather than later, and possibly this weekend at Infineon Raceway. A run-down of the two past winners:

CARL EDWARDS

Though Edwards has resided inside the top 12 in points for 14 of this season's 15 weeks, his victory drought has become the story of his season after a series-high nine wins in 2008.

But his last four races suggest the drought will soon end. He has four consecutive top-10s and has scored a Driver Rating higher than 100.0 in each of them. Plus, though perceived as a "wide open" type driver, Edwards' road course statistics are strong.

In last season's two road course races, Edwards combined for a Driver Rating of 106.4, an Average Running Position of 10.4 and 25 Fastest Laps Run, which was second only to Kyle Busch's 46. Edwards' Driver Rating was fourth-best at the road courses in 2008. The top five:

Road Course Driver Rating

2008 Cup Season
Pos. Driver Driver Rating
1. Kyle Busch 146.4
2. Juan Montoya 110.7
3. Tony Stewart 109.3
4. Carl Edwards 106.4
5. Jimmie Johnson 104.6

RYAN NEWMAN

At Michigan, Newman finished outside the top 10 for the first time in almost two months (his last finish outside the top 10 was at Phoenix on April 18). His string of six consecutive top-10s was his longest since the end of 2003, when he had seven in a row.

Still, those finishes (which included five top-fives) vaulted him 13 spots in the points standings -- from 17th to fourth. His 23rd-place finish at Michigan dropped him one spot, to fifth.

A win, though, has eluded Newman for 50 races dating back to the 2008 Daytona 500. A victory Sunday is certainly possible, considering his statistics at Infineon Raceway:

Ryan Newman

Infineon Raceway (2005-08)
Year Finish Avg. Run Pos. Fastest Laps Run Laps T-15% Rating Led
2005 9 8.9 0 97.3 107.4 0
2006 2 2.9 8 98.2 127.8 11
2007 20 15.7 0 58.2 77.7 0
2008 7 11.4 2 89.3 94.8 0
Total 9.5 9.7 10 85.7 101.9 11

Newman's second-place finish in 2006 produced some track-best statistics:
